My Art, International.
Brendan Downs is a video artist whose work blends analog imperfection, digital manipulation, and cinematic intimacy. His art has traveled across borders, finding resonance in audiences from North America to Asia.
Showcased internationally in Tokyo, Italy, and Canada Downs’ exhibitions highlight the universal language of visual experimentation. Each installation carries a sense of mystery; glitched transmissions, fractured imagery, and refracted memories which invite viewers to see technology not just as a tool, but as a collaborator in storytelling.
Whether displayed in galleries, film festivals, or experimental art spaces, Downs’ works are marked by their ability to evoke nostalgia while pushing visual media into uncharted territory. These exhibitions have solidified his reputation as a boundary-pushing artist whose practice dissolves the line between signal and noise, beauty and distortion.
“Fade Every Which Way” continuously broadcasted at Tokyo Node for Digital Springboard Volume 4. Dec. 5th - 21st
Tokyo Node x Neort
Analog glitches in urban spaces.
The Project aims to stimulate the creativity of visitors and office workers coming to Toranomon.
“Fade Every Which Way” explores the intersection between the human body, mediated perception, and digital environment. The work presents the image of a woman dancing side to side, her form manipulated through layers of analog glitch processing and video feedback. The process transforms a simple human movement into a fluctuating field of electronic light: a metaphor for the ways our identities and movements are continuously filtered through technological systems.
